Cake Recipes
Banana Cake Recipe
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs, beaten
1 cup mashed bananas
2 cups flour
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup sour cream
Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs, baking soda, vanilla and sour cream. Sift dry ingredients. Add to mixture along with bananas. Pour into an 8" x 13" greased pan. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes. Add your favorite frosting. Garnish on top with thin sliced bananas if desired.
Chocolate Cake Recipe
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 cups warm water
1 tsp baking soda
1 tep salt
2 eggs
1 cup cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
Mix shortening and sugar. Add egges and beat well. Sift flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Mix baking soda and water. Add alternatively with dry ingredients. Mix well after each addition. Add vanilla. Pour into 9" x 13" greased pan or 2 8" round greased pans. Bake about 30 minutes at 350.
